Developing a Mindset of Gratitude that keeps you Grounded
Gratitude
Do you typically find yourself in more of a negative thought pattern, a complainer, or pessimist or do you find it easier to look on the brighter side of circumstances?
In either case, a practice in brainstorming about things for which you are grateful just might be a fun and rewarding activity.
Grab a notebook, a journal or several sheets of paper and review the categories below.
After a short review, try to come up with as many things as you can in each category. Write them down under each heading. Leave space for more because later you will have other things pop up that you will want to add. Some categories may create negative thoughts and in that case, do your best to think of something positive that came from a negative experience.
Add any new categories or headings!
Each day, ponder some of your most grateful moments. When you are down, a little stressed or feeling sorry for your current circumstances, think about things on your list and think about someone else who just might have it worse.
Overtime, developing a mindset of gratitude changes perspective and keeps one more balanced.
